Inaugurated in 1988, the Municipal Chief Executive, Seth Antwi Boasiako said it is just appropriate to appreciate God's goodness and the various individuals who in diverse ways contributed in bringing the municipality this far.

This, however, cannot be done without any tangible monument in honour of the 35 years. As such the mandate and agenda for the 35th Anniversary is to raise funds to build a 40-bed capacity female ward at the Kade Government Hospital to enable the hospital respond adequately to the health needs of women in and around the municipality.

The agenda, he said has been locally launched with the hope of doing similar one externally as they look forward to pooling resources from all possible sources to be able to achieve this goal.

Elaborating on the need for the construction of the new female ward, the MCE said females account for about 80 percent of cases reported at the facility on daily basis, and about 2,300 per week. This notwithstanding, the facility currently has only 11-beds at the female ward; a situation that is very disheartening.

The Kade Government Hospital, he noted caters not only for the people of the municipality but all other towns and villages from nearby districts; thus the facility requires this urgent intervention to be able to serve the people better.

He noted that, for lack of enough beds at the female wards some cases that require admissions are treated and the patients allowed to go home.
