Leap benefit is for feeding - ANDA DCD

"Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) benefit paid to beneficiaries are to support feeding and nothing more"; the District Coordinating Director (DCD) of Adansi North District .Mr Okrah Thomas Kwame said this to LEAP beneficiaries during a meeting organized to educate LEAP beneficiaries on LEAP processes and dynamics.

The DCD encouraged LEAP beneficiaries to liase with officials of the Social Welfare Department to secure National Health Insurance cards to enable them access free healthcare.

The meeting which was held at the Amoanima Dede II hall-Fomena, on the 7th of February, 2024 had representatives from the National LEAP Secretariat in attendance.

Ms. Adjowa Mensah who is part of the team, prompted beneficiaries to be curious about how much they are to receive during each pay time so, they are convinced they are not being cheated by anyone as they claim.

She also revealed that, there would be a re- assessment of the programme to add on and delete some beneficiaries who are deceased amongst other factors.

The District Social Welfare Officer, Mr. Midas Nkuah beseeched beneficiaries to always converge at pay points for officers in charge to aid them in assessing their benefits and address any challenge that might arise quickly to avoid delays in payments.

Beneficiaries with concerns were engaged by the Secretariat team.
