AGENDA 111: Ahanta West Municipal hospital progressing steadily
Work is progressing steadily on a new district hospital at Bokoro, a community in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region.

The facility, which is under the government’s Agenda 111 initiative, when completed will bring quality healthcare to the doorsteps of the people of Agona Nkwanta, Bokoro and other adjoining communities.


Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Mr John Agyare, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ahanta West, lauded the President for the good initiative, adding that the completion of the new hospital will significantly boost healthcare in Ahanta West and its surrounding communities.

He was hopeful that work will soon be completed on the project and handed over for use.


He however, seized the opportunity call on the constructor to expedite work in order to complete the project on time.

Meanwhile, the Agenda 111 project includes 101 district hospitals, six regional hospitals in the newly created regions, two specialized hospitals in the middle and northern belts, as well as a regional hospital in the Western Region and renovation of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital.


The objective of the Project is to significantly deepen delivery of quality healthcare at the district level, boost access to healthcare services for all citizens.

Each of the hospitals is expected to be completed within 12 months, from the day of commencement of actual work.
