1901 candidates sitting for BECE in Atebubu-Amantin

This year’s Basic Education Certificate Examinations BECE which started last Monday is progressing smoothly in the Atebubu-Amantin municipality.

A total of 1901 candidates made up of 955 males and 946 females from 77 schools both public and private are taking part in the 5 day exercise which will see the pupils examined in a total of 9 subject areas.

According to Mr. Charles Amoah, the officer in charge of examinations at the municipal education directorate, 4 absentees all females have so far been recorded indicating that the affected pupils had all stopped schooling prior to the examination and was not immediately in a position to say what led to the situation.

He said no major incident has been recorded so far in any of the 9 examination centers in the municipality.
