According to Mr. Yaw Owusu Donkor Junior the MOFA Director in the Municipality, the annual planning session provides opportunity for the department to meet stakeholders in the Agricultural value chain, to know their challenges and devise appropriate measures to overcome those challenges.

He said through a ranking system the department will address the main challenges facing farmers in their operational area.

Mr. Stephen Tecku, the Municipal Coordinating Director who represented the Municipal Chief Executive talked about the importance of the planning session.

He said it informs the Agric department with details for their action plan which the Assembly relies on for its annual budget.

The MCD talked about the programs introduced by the government in the Agric sector which includes planting for food and jobs and planting for exports and rural development and challenged farmers to take advantage of such programs which are targeted at improving the foreign exchange earnings of the country and improving the living conditions of farmers.
