Atwima Mponua celebrates 67th Independence Day in grand style
The celebration of the 67th Independence Day in Atwima Mponua was indeed grand as the district capital of Mponua buzzed with excitement with thousands of individuals from various walks of life gathered at the Nyinahin D/A School Park to participate in the event.

The presence of spectators, students, security personnel, traditional authorities, politicians, and media personnel added to the vibrancy of the celebration.

Thirty schools, spanning from kindergarten to Senior high school, participated in the festivities, with Cadet Commander James Tawiah Kwoffie leading the charge while the Seventh Day Adventist Regimental band played melodious tunes to excite the crowd.

Hon. Isaac Kofi Marfo, the District Chief Executive, delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the importance of perseverance in overcoming economic challenges. He particularly addressed the youth, advising them to refrain from engaging in negative activities such as drug abuse and excessive alcohol consumption. Instead, he urged them to embody traits of greatness, civility, patriotism, and hard work.


Under the theme "Our Democracy, Our Pride," Hon. Kofi Marfo stressed the significance of politics fostering unity, brotherhood, and a conducive environment beneficial to all. He highlighted the achievements of the NPP government in various sectors such as education, health, and water systems within the district.

Mr. Ofori Adams was recognized for his philanthropic efforts in the district, receiving a citation in appreciation of his contributions. Awards were also presented to the best-performing students in the BECE and WASSCE examinations.

Following the marching pass, Unique Angels International School emerged as the winner of the coveted trophy for the kindergarten and primary level, while Nyinahin Salem claimed the top spot in the Junior High School category.
Overall, the celebration of Independence Day in Atwima Mponua showcased a blend of patriotism, community spirit, and recognition of academic excellence, making it a memorable and significant event for all participants.
