LaNMMA Embarks on Desilting of Choked Gutters
The staff of Environmental Health Unit of the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly embarked on a massive desilting of choked gutter within the Nkwantanang Electoral Area of the Municipality on Sunday, March 12, 2023.

The desilting exercise took place on the Daavi JJ – Doku area stretch of a drain measuring approximately 950m. The various concrete obstruction in the drains were also removed to allow for free flow of run-off water.
According to Mr. Joseph Quarcoe, the Head of the Environmental Health Unit, the exercise was undertaken to avert any possible flooding with the onset of the rains. He said a similar exercise would be undertaken in other flood prone areas within the municipality.
