Jonga is predominantly a farming community in the Wa municipality.

Residents in the community over the years have been battling with the road over the years to get the road tarred to enable easy access of goods and services especially transporting of farm produce to the capital, Wa.

Speaking to Radio Progress at Jonga during a visit to the community the Assembly Member for the area, Ibrahim Alhassan Daubile said several appeals to the Wa Municipal Assembly on several occasions to work on the Jonga road have fallen on deaf ears which prompted the Wa Central Parliamentary Candidate to come to the aid of the community.

This according to the Assembly member has given a sigh of relief to residents especially farmers and pregnant women as the rainy season begin to reach its peak.

According to him, the youth of the area have formed a WhatsApp group dubbed: fix Jonga road now and have made an appeal to the Parliamentary candidate of the NPP Hajia Humu Awudu and she promised to take the cost of the reshaping of the road while she lobbies intensively from the central government to get the road fix to alleviate the plight of the Chiefs and people of Jonga.

Some users of the road who spoke to Radio Progress news team thanked and showered praises on the Parliamentary Candidate of the NPP for her generosity to the community and the Municipality as a whole.

“I could not believe when I heard that Hajia Humu was the one who is working on the Jonga road, any time it rains we are unable to use this road to the municipal capital Wa". According to a tricycle user popularly called"Nyaaba Lorry".
